About IntelligentSystems
Our Story
My husband is a securities and capital markets lawyer — the kind of person who reads the Financial Times for fun and thinks investigative journalism counts as light reading. He genuinely loves the work he does (minus the long hours), and somewhere along the way, he picked up programming after reading Code by Charles Petzold.
What began as a hobby became something more when he watched one too many companies struggle to meet the SEC's mandated filing deadlines. He'd seen firsthand what that scramble looked like — documents cycling through rounds of preparation and formatting, EDGARization errors caught too late, bookmarked proofs that needed yet another pass, XBRL data generated under pressure, iXBRL tags applied in a rush. Every step was a place where things could go wrong, and the deadline didn't care.
He knew the problem intimately and started building BluePrint: a platform that automates the entire filing workflow, from document preparation and EDGARization through bookmarked proofs, XBRL generation, and iXBRL tagging, all the way to submission with the SEC.
For Valentine's Day, I asked him for three of his most ambitious projects. And BluePrint was the first.
I don't have a legal background. I can't write XBRL. But when my husband walked me through what he'd built, I understood something clearly: this shouldn't just live on his laptop. Firms of every size deserve access to tools like this, at prices that don't require a second thought.
That's why I founded IntelligentSystems LLC, engaged my husband as the company's outside counsel, and brought on an Oxford full-scholarship engineer who was featured on Korean national television as a next-generation prodigy, to help bring it to market.
What We Believe
The securities industry has long accepted that quality filing tools come with steep price tags and opaque pricing. We don't think that's necessary.
IntelligentSystems was built on a simple principle: make professional-grade securities tools available at a transparent and reasonable price. Not stripped-down versions. Not ‘starter tiers’ that push you toward an enterprise contract. The real thing — built by someone who has spent his career doing this work and knows exactly what filers need.
Our Mission
Public companies disclose material information across their SEC filings every year, including risk factors, forward-looking statements, and management's take on the companies' financial results, liquidity, capital resources, and trends. Yet systematically examining and dissecting that volume of information, let alone making sense of it, remains notoriously labor-intensive.
IntelligentSystems builds tools that handle XBRL tagging and validation, disclosure analysis, and financial statement due diligence — giving equity researchers, filing teams, investors, and fellow securities and capital markets attorneys a structured view of what companies report and how well they report it.
Built by a Practitioner, Run with Purpose
BluePrint wasn't designed in a product lab or born out of a pitch deck. It was built by a lawyer who files with the SEC, for the people who file with the SEC. Every feature reflects real workflow — not theoretical use cases.
And because I came to this without a legal or technical background, I've made it a personal mission to document how each platform works in plain, accessible language. Every explanation in our FAQ section has been written by me in layman's terms and reviewed by my husband for accuracy. If I can understand it, you can too.
